You can use the Developer Kit for Linux to develop Java applets and applications. The Developer Kit package contains the following components:
Toolkit Runtime Environment The Toolkit is a Java development environment with which you can: Develop applets that conform to the 100% Pure Java specification The Toolkit contains tools for developing Java applications and applets, including the following:
Java Compiler Java Class Libraries Java Applet Viewer Java Interpreter A runtime environment is required to run Java applets and applications. The Runtime Environment for Linux is included in the Developer Kit for Linux and is also available as a separate package. Library and Header Files Use the Library and Header files to build native applications that interface with Java and make use of the Java Native Interface (JNI). Demo Applets With Java, there is no need to start from scratch on your programming efforts. You can install the Demo Applets and use them to develop applets and applications. |
