This tutorial provides an overview of the Java™ 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Connector Architecture (JCA). The tutorial starts with a high-level look at JCA, including the base elements of the architecture. You'll explore each of these elements in detail, with step-by-step descriptions and examples. The course closes with a sample application that will help you see how all the parts of a JCA-compliant and enabled system work together.

Prerequisites

You should be familiar with Java programming and object-oriented programming concepts. You should also have a high-level understanding of J2EE and J2EE applications.

System requirements

You will need JavaScript enabled on your browser.

To execute and test the sample code, you will need a J2EE application server environment that supports the J2EE Connector Architecture. The source code is supplied in standard J2EE packaging. See your J2EE application server environment for deployment details.
